How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary task? Part 2

Mask

When creating my artist; we have found that there is always a link between both poster, digi-packs and music video which make the artist known; for example similar to a slogan or a symbol. For our artist Madelyn Faith; we chose to use a mask to make a clear symbol for the artists. This key for the target audience if our artist was to start promoting other products or creating a range in the future for example perfume. If Madelyn Faith was to promote other products she would be able to keep the theme of the the mask and nature as a logo in future; so that target audience would see the mask and straight away think of our artist; because it was a continuous theme and logo throughout the digi- pack, posters and music video. Which makes the combination effect for both the audience and the artist herself for future prospects.

Nature theme

Another key theme for our music video and the ancillary task was nature; this was theme that was needed throughout the whole of the artist theme. It was a key theme in link with the lyrics and the personality of the artists; our artist is seen as having a disturbed and angry personality which is shown to the audience through the way she is represented through her digi-packs, posters and music videos. However; she also has a 'vintage' style to her which is shown through her outfits and locations; she isn't seen with bright colours they are mainly natural colours such as white, grey and lace. This is exaggerated through the location of her promotion activities; seen in the music video as she lip syncs in the forest and is seen dancing on the poster in a park. The nature theme is also seen in the music video; with many of the shots being overlapped with trees and she also wears a flowery band round her head which puts a nature theme in to a normal situation.
